My daddy was given trasylol after his heart bypass surgery and now has kidney failure requiring dialysis 3 days a week. He NEVER had kidney problems before being given this drug. Now, he also has arterial fibrillation and congestive heart failure. This drug is STILL on the market despite the proven harmful effects. Apparently health "care" is just an oxymoron and all that matters in this industry is big money. Something must be done about this! @NATALI

After heart valve replacement I suffered renal failure and almost died. Only heroic treatment by a team of specialists saved my life. Bayer maintains they owe nothing because I cannot "prove" Trasylol caused the failure.

This is a clear case of false advertising. The FDA should immediately forbid the company to sell this products because it displays false information about what it can treat and how it does that. Jesus, some companies should be closed down for good.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment here on this site. I am
so sorry to hear of your friend's mother's passing as a result of
Trasylol. However, it sounds as if her family got their day in court to
secure justice against the manufacturer. Even though no amount of money
can make up for the loss of their mother, we can hope that such a lesson
will teach the drug company to pay more attention to the value of human
life, and hopefully prevent more families from suffering in the future.

I actually know someone whose mother died from being given Trasylol. Kidney failure was the biggest problem. Her family received a settlement of almost $20M from Bayer.

The fact that they continued to market the product after it was known to be a danger is disgusting and to be honest they deserve to be outed and have to pay compensation.

The five-year death rate 20.8% is very high, FDA did good thing by asking Bayer to withdraw the drug.
